Why Buy a 3 Wheeler Buggy?
If you love running in the morning, an e-bike with three wheels could be a good choice for you. They are equipped with larger wheels, which provide an easier ride, however they can be bulkier and require a bigger boot.
If you're planning to take your pushchair for outdoor walks you should consider models that have air-filled tires (also known by the name pneumatic). They are able to handle rough terrain and have an front wheel that can lock for more stability.

What is a three-wheeler buggy?
A 3-wheel buggy is a great option for off-roading or for navigating around town. They turn on a dime and are easy to handle and have passed the stringent tests for stability. The fabric sling seat is set in a snug place inside the frame and not on top like modular seats. This creates lower center of gravity, making it easier to push your buggy. Mountain Buggy(r) even has a world first sport verso(tm) which is a three wheelin' inline chassis that expands with your family - from the face of your infant carrier to toddler ride-on boards.
Are you thinking of going "off-road"?
For those that like to be adventurous and venture off the beaten track, it's important that your buggy is able to be able to handle rough terrain. You'll need a reliable suspension system that can absorb bumps, and large wheels with air-filled tyres to provide excellent grip on rough surfaces. A lockable front wheel is also a wonderful option for stability when running on harder surfaces.
MFM reviewer Kath really put this fun-loving buggy to the test when driving it through rough dirt, cobbles, and grass tracks with her infant and 3 year old, and said "it handled everything with ease and was even enjoyable to jog with. The 16" rear wheels and lockable "swivel" front wheel provide the perfect stability for off-road tracks or surfaces that are uneven. The tyres also come with springs built-in to ensure a smooth ride.
The sport verso is an amazing single-buggy that will protect your wallet in the future because it can easily take 2 (or more!) Once your family grows, you can still use the same buggy. The sling seats made of fabric are set snugly inside the frame at the perfect height to distribute weight evenly. This makes for a much easier push and a less hefty curb-pop.
Want to 'go around town'?
A 3-wheel buggy will have one wheel in front and two wheels at the rear and, based on the model, the wheel will be free to rotate or locked in place so that the buggy only is able to travel in straight lines. Their USP is that they are extremely maneuverable and easy to steer, and they will often come with suspension (which can be handy for tricky terrain) and air-filled tyres to ensure the ride is smooth and comfortable. As a result, they are great for everyday use in the city and are usually equipped to handle the popping of kerbs and also be able to go off road too.
However, as with any buggy, it is important to drive them responsibly and not get distracted by a mobile phone, tablet or other electronic device. Avoid driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol as it could alter your judgment and reaction time. If you do have an automobile boot to store your buggy, be sure to verify the size of its footprint once it is fully folded so that it will fit in your car.
If you want a buggy that can transport you from the park to the shops then make sure you choose one with large shopping baskets and good features such as the padded handle, a sturdy brake pedal (that can stop when it hits the slope) and a large expandable 50+ sun canopy. MFM reviewer Kath loved the sling in fabric that has an automatic lie-flat mattress for newborns. She also thought the seating was placed perfectly within the frame to ensure good weight distribution. However, she did note that a four-wheeler has more storage space.
Do you want to go 'in the park'?
With the amazing maneuverability this fun lovin' 3-wheeler can provide, it is perfect for urban adventures too. 3 wheeled pushchairs drove it and discovered that it could traverse bumpy sidewalks, grass and cobbles without difficulty. It also coped well with the kerb pops around town too, as the fabric sling seat sits comfortably inside the frame at just the right height to allow for the best weight distribution to effortlessly push and lift it over them.
This buggy is ideal for jogging because it comes with lockable swivel wheels on the front and a'snug and stretch' tyre that provides a really smooth ride when you're running around the streets. The only downside to the huge wheels is that it might struggle to fit into smaller spaces when folded. Luckily it has some pretty impressive storage features to compensate for this! There's a huge basket and a zip-up pocket on the back.
